    Rob Bell was a speaker at the third Renewing the Humber Conference held at the KC Stadium, Hull on 1 May 2012. Speakers included Lord Prescott who gave a stirring speech on the potential for the Humber. Rob followed with a wake-up call to the Region to benchmark itself against global competition. The Humber is not the only place with claims to be the centre for Renewable Energy, as Rob demonstrated in his piece for the Hull Daily Mail on 4 May.

    Rob Bell and Capt Bhardwaj, the Vice Chancellor of AMET University, visited a number of companies, universities and colleges in Norway and the UK in March/April 2012. The organisations visited were selected by Archomai and AMET to assist AMET to enhance its research and its provision of courses and qualifications in the ports, oil, gas and renewables sectors.

    Considerable interest has been shown, and ten letters of intent to collaborate have been agreed as a result of the visits.

    Sophie Brattan and Euan Bright, both second year Medical students at Leeds University, have won an Archomai Naesey Scholarship to work in the villages of Tamil Nadu. Naesey is a Charity devoted to training the rural unemployed and Archomai support its pioneering work. During the stay, Sophie and Euan will be looking at village life; rural health and, the kinds of trades and skills the locals are involved in.
