Archomai North East China -

Archomai's representative office in China is situated in Jilin City in the north-east of the country, 900km from Beijing. In Forbes magazine's recent review of the top twenty locations in China for future investment, Jilin came in at number one (Forbes Magazine, China edition, August 2005).

Jilin Province has a population of 27 million people. 12 million live in the agglomeration of Jilin and the provincial capital of Changchun, within 100 km of one another on the motorway from Beijing. The two cities are equidistant from the brand new international Changchun airport, and there are high-speed rail freight links to Shanghai, to Beijing and to Dalian, North China's principal deep water port in the neighouring province of Liaoning.

The area's industrial strengths are in steel, automotive and chemicals, including petrochemicals. Jilin City has the biggest ethanol (fuel alcohol) plant in China. The Province is also one of the biggest hardwood producers in the country, with raw timber and timber products, including furniture, also forming an important element of the economy. Changchun is the capital of China's flourishing film industry, and the area is focused on encouraging new high-tech developments.

Tourism, leisure, and sport are not neglected. Jilin's Bei Da Hu ski resort will be the venue for the 2007 Asian Winter Games. Liaoning can boast no less that three Premier League soccer clubs, and the championship title rarely strays from the province, although Jilin will be seeking to challenge their neighbour's domination through Changchun Yatai.
